Survey finds that merchants are losing ‘millions’

…..despite expectations that online shopping will rise in 2009
Global payment provider ClickAndBuy have just revealed some rather alarming statistics relating to UK ecommerce buyer behaviour.
For a summary:
• 50% of regular online shoppers don’t complete the transaction if preferred method of payment is not available
• 40% of adults surveyed would feel more comfortable with a retailer who offers a range of payment methods
• 36% of those surveyed will shop more online than on the High Street in 2009 than 2008
• 54% of those surveyed are concerned about security risks from entering credit card details online.
