After reading this blog post on Business Insider I felt compelled to write a quick post about the topic, being both an iPhone user and working in the Internet Marketing field with a heavy involvement in Mobile SEO.

In a nutshell Admob pretty much the leader in iphone ads can’t fill its advertising inventory, hardly a surprise when there are 17,000,000  iphone users world wide and over 25,000 apps and iphone users represent 1% of the total web traffic worldwide.

Google Selling the Benefits of Mobile Search to increase their ad spend

See below for the e-mail received from Google regarding mobile search and statistics and why I should not have opted out of displaying PPC ads for mobile devices. I thoroughly agree with them apart from the fact that this particular campaign wouldn’t work so well for mobile users.

Mobile SEO Presentation for Bango Key Customers

Yesterday I enjoyed a great day at the Bango Key Customer event. I was presenting with Tom Thurston of Scorch about Mobile SEO, something I am learning more and more is overlooked by many in the mobile industry, honestly they are obsessed with paying for traffic. In the current climate and speaking to lots of site owners more and more people are finding it tough to create profitable sites using the traditional buying traffic on deck from the operators or off deck from Google and Yahoo.

Top 20 Mobile Devices in February

When designing sites for the mobile web it is important to consider the different devices available.

There has been a lot of hype this week regarding the iphone with 17,000,000 units world wide, 25,000 applications and over 500,000,000 but it doesnt even make the list of Top 20 devices, according to Ray Anderson from Bango Mobile Billing and Analytics it accounts for only 1.12% of mobile downloads.
